Welcome to

Camstone Fox's

Dirt Den Inn...

In 1995, a red fox was born. He was not an ordinary red fox, he was a fox that many woodland creatures ignored. He didn't mind, as he was very, very busy with the issues of life and growing up with his mother and father. He had no siblings, but enjoyed the warmth of the den that his parents provided. He was named for a new mechanical device that his parents had heard of, one that made changes... a item called a "Cam." And to that, they added "Stone" for without a good foundation, no change could ever be made that was ever worthwhile.

After growing up strong with Celtic blood from the land of Scotland, the young fox made his way out of the woodlands, through western Pennsylvania and finally slowly made his way into the heart of America, Washington DC. He felt reborn in the land of history and freedom... a town that while still hard and cruel at times, allowed one to think and prosper... if only those there were willing to work hard for it. And this fox worked smart... very smartly, indeed.

His old family home, long since abandonded by him, was always a warm place he retreated to in his mind. A place where he could learn from his father how to fish, from his mother how to bake... and from his relatives morales, how to cherish the land and the things it provided in abundance all around him - if only he was willing to look. He oft remembers his own small corner of the den, where he had few possessions that really meant much to him... and what it meant, when it came time for him to leave it.

He remembered the day he left his father, and how his father had said he was proud of him. This from a father who had to work hard to raise a family and keep them fed and safe. The lessons on him were not lost. He had learned to read the written word and used his instincts to his advantage, and was seldom tripped up by the rage or flights of fancy.

He came to rest on a hillside one day, and dug a hole. A good hole. It was next to a tree, one that he had seen many times before and had grown to love. A Sugar Maple. So he made this hole his own, and put a sign outside the hole... much as he had seen others do when they made a place to call their own.

Camstone named it "The Dirt Den Inn" for two reasons. The first was because that was what it was - a dirt den where he would be in. The second... because it was unassuming, and came from the earth. Someplace he had seen his father return to... and knew some day, he too would ultimately rest peacefully in. The earth was home, and so was this fox.

He oft spent time just watching and listening while he was relaxing. Sometimes just seeming to lean against a nearby tree, thinking about how life was and how he could make it better. Of course as all foxes do, he enjoyed engaging in going on frolicing adventures with his friends, at times lending them a paw, and at others... gratefully accepting a paw on the shoulder when aide was needed most.

Today, the fox can be found still... roaming the lands of his forefathers, in Scotland, other lands of intregue, and travelling all across the land known he calls his home... America. But regardless of where he goes, he always returns to his den... and for the most part, returns happy... and with a story that sometimes is best heard around the campfire, or a warming hearth on a cold winter's night. And at that fire, he shares what he has... be it wisdom, thoughts on the future, or even just better ways of doing things.
